A visit from Austriagepostet am 03. September 2010 um 10:12The Ausseer Bradlmusi are playing today for us. There has now been traditional folk music for three days. I'm excited to see how well it goes down with the Chinese public. more |

Grand Opening Expo Shanghai 2010gepostet am 01. May 2010 um 10:45A grand opening with politicians from all over the world. All of the projections ran perfectly. The atmosphere is great. We received our first praise and slowly the tension is subsiding. It is a sensational feeling that everything is working as planned, and that all the images in our heads have become reality! more |

The home straightgepostet am 30. April 2010 um 22:43It was a photo-finish the evening before the opening. Behind us were nine stress-filled weeks, endless working days, long discussions over the Internet, innumerable hours in aircraft, on the building site, at Chinese customs - often with a whole lot of adrenaline and not much sleep. more |

Sissi, Mozart & Co.: Kitsch as kitsch can!gepostet am 16. April 2010 um 10:41I'm continually being asked about the concept for the moving images in the Austria Pavilion. The design of the inner rooms is very playful and, admittedly, tending a little towards the kitsch. But our visitors certainly expect that! more |

Wearing breathing masks at the computergepostet am 30. March 2010 um 12:39What we have to endure by way of toxic emissions on the small building site of our EXPO pavilion is really unreasonable. Sometimes we sit at our computers wearing breathing masks, whilst the Chinese workers work unprotected the whole day with epoxy resins and paints and other chemicals. The workers can't be envied in other ways either: they live directly on the Expo site, work endless hours without a break, their shifts run around the clock. The building sites here never sleep! more |

Alternative Energy A top subject in Shanghaigepostet am 15. March 2010 um 20:36The subject of electricity and energy is really huge in China. It is treated very ambivalently: on the one hand, very advanced concepts in energy generation and use are being developed, and on the other, they are unbelievably wasteful with energy. So there's the unbelievable extravagance of media facades, the staging of buildings, laser shows, etc., which are enormously energy intensive. more |

Better city, better lifegepostet am 10. March 2010 um 18:31...is the motto of this year's EXPO in China. I know that many pavilions have given themselves a sub-theme, such as Austria's "Senses in harmony". How will we implement this theme? We have planned interactive walls and floors, which we can extensively and interactively play moving images on using audio-visual resources. Right at the start, the visitor enters the theme area of winter and mountains, where a true snow slope awaits. more |

Shanghai Permanent traffic madnessgepostet am 05. March 2010 um 09:28Shanghai is a city of 16 million people, and it continues to grow. The city comes to life at about 5 a.m. and that's when the traffic also starts - and what traffic! The air is dreadful, and on some days so bad that you can hardly see the sun, just the glimmer of a large red ball in the sky, dulled by the air pollution... more |

You can't heat south of the Yangtzegepostet am 03. March 2010 um 15:26I was in Shanghai in December and am here again in March, and it is really cold and unpleasant. As I have rented my own apartment, we are enjoying the old Chinese rule: "You can't heat south of the Yangtze!" more |

Shaghai, here we come!gepostet am 01. March 2010 um 22:20In May 2009, Peyote received the commission to design the exhibition for the Austria Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. We won through with our concept over four other bidders. It is an unbelievable feeling to be able to present your country at a world exhibition! more |
